Entry Requirements for Countries That Don’t Require a Visa for Mexicans

Even if no visa is required, there are still certain entry requirements you must meet:

  • A valid passport that doesn’t expire within the next 6 months

  • A return or onward ticket

  • Proof of accommodation, such as a Booking or Expedia reservation, or a letter of invitation.

  • Financial means to support your stay

  • Health requirements (vaccines, health forms)

  • Travel insurance (especially for Schengen Area, Asia, and Oceania)

Having these documents ready will help you avoid problems at immigration—even in countries that don’t require a visa.

Do I Need a Visa for a Caribbean Cruise?

It depends on the itinerary.

If your cruise departs from a Mexican port and visits Caribbean islands that don’t require a visa for Mexicans, then a valid passport will suffice.

But if it departs from the United States, such as Miami, you must have a U.S. visa. Even if you’re just passing through or disembarking for a few hours, you won’t be allowed to board without it.

That’s why it’s important to check every stop included in the itinerary—some destinations may have specific immigration requirements.

If you don't have it or need to renew your U.S. visa as a Mexican, please do it before booking.

DolarCard: A Smarter Way to Pay Abroad

If you’re planning a trip to any of the destinations mentioned, don’t forget to bring your DolarCard. Among all the world currencies, this card allows you to pay in two of the most important: the U.S. dollar and the euro—in their digital form.

Plus, DolarCard can be a cheaper alternative than traditional bank credit cards. The exchange rate is more favorable and there are no hidden fees.

If you don’t have one yet, request it from DolarApp and enjoy better control over your spending. You can use your USDc balance to pay for hotels, flights, or any international purchase—online or in person.
